GRAFFITI: A form of visual communication, involving the marking of public space by an individual or group. It may be literate or illiterate. It may be legal or illegal. It may be a work of art. It may be vandalism, intended to distort or deface what was originally depicted on the surface. And the surface may be anything, provided that it is able to be seen by the public.
